Accessing the floppy disk drives may generate the following error message: Could not perform because of an I/O error In addition, floppy disk writes may result in the loss of all data on the floppy disk. According to NCR, a software patch is available that resolves the floppy disk problems. The patch is available from NCR's BBS. The BBS number is (803) 939-7504. The file is in the NCRHW section and is named FDD_FIX.EXE. For additional information on other methods to obtain the patch, contact NCR technical support at (800) GO-WINNT (469-4668).
